Coming Back From the Dead

This must be the most boring blog ever! At least it has been the last little while. Sorry about that. Dina is keeping very busy with her family and other great things, but the lack of posts here are entirely my fault. Since I’m generally an open book (pun intended) I’ll just admit that my health problems have really knocked me flat. It’s nothing serious or life-threatening, so don’t be worrying about me. I’ve just been in a place where I’ve not felt well enough to do much of anything. And my brain seems to have flat-lined, especially when it comes to the written word. After 56 books in less than 18 years, who can blame it? Still, I’ve had trouble answering emails, putting posts on Facebook, and even mustering up enough thought to Tweet. How pathetic is that? But I’m trying to wake up here and hope to be more social. I love reading your comments here, and I promise to try and be more a part of the conversation.

As for my book writing, you should all be the first to know that I haven’t written a creative word since February. I hope you’ve all read “The Wishing Garden” by now, although if you have you know that it desperately needs a sequel. That book is about half written and the rest is outlined. I’ve got the story all figured out; I just need to write it. I’m working back into that, and I’ve just settled with my publisher on a February release. So, I apologize for the delay, but I promise you will like the way this story comes together. You might have to reread the first book over the holidays and then we can all party when the next one comes out. As for my writing career beyond that, we’ll just have to see what happens.

One more thing: in order to catch this blog up with information that used to be on the other blog, we will be posting the backgrounds on my books that you found there. I’ve saved them all, so watch for those to start popping up. When each book is posted, I would love to hear your feelings on that particular book if you’ve read it, and if you haven’t, you have something to look forward to.

Also, I’m very excited that we have Christine on board to guide us on a new journey through the books. Welcome, Christine! It’s going to be great!

Hope you’re all having a great August so far. It’s time to be getting the kids ready to go back to school, and I personally am looking forward to some cooler weather next month.

Hugs to you all, Anita

Yay!! Been wondering when the next book will be coming out.
I also remember a post, I think it was on the other blog about First Love and Forever being made into a movie is that still going to be happening?
I know all to well about having health issue knock you flat on your back. Sure glad you are starting to get back on your feet.

It's good to hear from you Anita! I think there was a line forgotten in the translation of the famous scripture in Ecclesiastes. I think they forgot "a time to write and a time to sleep." :) Sorry! I know that was sacrilegious and silly. But I think it's true, there are many seasons in our lives. Unfortunately, the season of illness and writing don't usually go together. Many of us understand your struggle. Keep keepin' on and know we're all cheering for you! Take care on your journey! God Bless!

Anita,
I think you are great. You are my role model. Seriously. My favorite books are the BD&H series. You are an amazing writer. I hope that First Love and Forever does become a movie, because I love it. I am reading it right now. Thank you for always writing.
