Lifetime Achievement & Platinum Trumpet Received

Last week I had the remarkable honor of receiving a couple of fairly prestigious awards from my publisher. It's been many years since Covenant Communications has held any kind of awards ceremonies, due to changes in the LDS publishing industry, and possibly recession (I'm guessing). So, this was a nice surprise for us authors and artists to be treated to such an outing. I was informed some weeks before the event that I would be given a Lifetime Achievement Award, and apparently it's a pretty big deal. After more than fifty books through my eighteen-year working relationship with Covenant, it felt good to receive such an honor. Of course, I must give credit where credit is due and I know that I would not have been able to do what I had done without God's continual support and assistance. I have also been part of a great team at Covenant, and many people have contributed to my being able to do what I've done. I also have to offer a big thank you to you, my readers and fans; without you the stories I write would have little meaning. 

So, that's the news in my life. I've included some photos from the big event. I was also given the "Platinum Trumpet Award" which is something Covenant has offered for achieving certain levels of products sold. I can now add this to my silver and gold trumpet awards. It really is nice to be recognized for the work I've done, but at the end of the day, my kids really don't care how many awards are in my curio cabinet, as long as they know I love them. I feel very humbled by my gift and the role it plays in my life. And it's funny how I still have to clean out the fridge and do the laundry. Another day in the life of Anita Stansfield.
