Which Book I'll Be Reading Next

Thank you for all your suggestions about which book I should start with.  Anita enjoyed reading your suggestions also.  So, this morning I hopped on over to www.randomizer.org and plugged in all 17 comments and the winner was...

Baby SisterJan 12, 2012 10:33 AM Wow...it's hard. But I agree with the others who suggested the Byrnhouse-Davies & Hamilton series, you should start with that. And though I started with First Love and Forever as my very first Anita novel, I would start with Gable Faces East. It explains that story a lot. So, Gable Faces East.

As I finish each book in this series, I will share my journey with you and you can share yours with me.  If you'd like to read along with me that would be GREAT.  What a perfect way to begin 2012 don't cha think?

Let's all start where it all began and read together.

If you need to purchase a copy just click on the picture of the book in this post.  It looks like Amazon has some new copies as well as an ebook.

Alright I'm going to start reading tonight after the kiddos go to bed, I'll be picturing 90+ of us reading The Gable Faces East all at the same time. How exciting is that?

What a great book to start with. You can follow from the beginning all the way to the end with this family. I think I might just join you.

I just hand delivered Dina a copy of The Gable Faces East, and the books that follow. It's been a long time since I wrote that book, but I've heard it's good, so I'm excited to see what she thinks. Hope she likes it, or this could be very awkward. Ha! Checked in on the blog and the number of visitors was 1812. That's the year Charles Dickens was born. That must surely be a sign of some kind of good luck. Hugs to everyone!

Dina...I just ordered several books so I could follow your journey, but didn't get this one yet. I will have to get it! Excited to follow you and join you in this journey, since I am just discovering Anita. I have been asking everyone I know... Do you read Anita Stansfield...several have answered yes...and I keep pointing them toward the blog. It is going to be an exciting year. When we reached 1812 I am sure Charles Smiled! But I have a feeling that is going to double quickly!

I have both big Gable books on my iPad. So I can read along.

I have a question. And please excuse me for stepping on toes if I'm doing so. I know Anita's been sick and got her letter. Brest cancer? How in the world was she able to write when that ill? I mean maybe it was healthy to get some of the emotions out but deadlines etc? Was about recurrence and all those icky questions.

Sorry if they've been asked before but I may have missed things. Sure hope that nasty C stuff is gone FOR GOOD!

I have to start getting in shape anyway for my yearly trip to WY. But maybe I can start training for the 3 Day Cancer walk thing that's always promoted on tv. Maybe all of us could do something like this. Does this sound like a doable plan? Something that would be of interest to everyone. I would dedicate my walk to Anita both for all the books she's written, the many hours of joy just quiet.y absorbing her books and for her beating back the C?

Margaret,

Thank you so much for your interest in Anita's health. Anita wanted me to let you know that she has been blessed with many miracles, and that includes being able to keep up with the deadlines. She said, "The cancer has been beaten and I'm healing."

Regarding the 3 Day walk: It's fun that you thought of that because I was just talking to Anita about that the other day. I did the 3 day walk several years ago in California with my friend and it was an amazing experience.

There is a Susan G. Komen, "Race for the Cure" here in Salt Lake around Mother's Day every year and it might be fun to start a Team Anita. The race is not the "60 miles in 3 days" walk but it would be fun. They haven't posted it on the website yet and so I will keep checking back on a regular basis and see if it's something doable.

You are more then welcome to start a Team Anita in your area and we would be honored to help promote that team. If it happens to be here in the Salt Lake area, let me know and maybe I'll join you. Definitely keep us up to date.

I started reading The Gables Faces East on Saturday after I saw the post. I am now about half way through it. I love this family! I usually find myself starting with this book and going through all of the Davies/Hamilton series. Thanks for doing this blog for all of us fans.

Hi Dina, I've had an interesting topic of discussion come up since I've been reading a lot of Anita's books lately that I would be interested in hearing feedback about. Is there an email address I might send my thoughts to and you can decide if it's something you're interested in opening up to your blog readers?
